Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to computer repair, upgrade, refurbishment and related services provided by Microfix.

1. Repairs & Diagnosis

All equipment is inspected and diagnosed before repair work is carried out. Where possible, we will provide a quote before starting any chargeable work. No repair work will be carried out without the customer’s approval, except where otherwise agreed.

2. Quotes & Payment

Quotes are based on the information available at the time of diagnosis. If additional faults or work are discovered, we will contact you before carrying out any additional chargeable work. Payment is due when the repair or service has been completed and before equipment is returned to the customer.

3. Customer Data

Customers are responsible for backing up important data before submitting equipment for repair. While reasonable care will be taken, Microfix cannot guarantee that data will not be lost during repair, upgrade or operating system installation. Customers should ensure they have appropriate backups of important files before handing equipment to us.

4. Collection & Return

Where a collection and return service is agreed, the customer is responsible for providing accurate collection and delivery information. Equipment will normally be returned once payment has been received and the repair has been completed.

5. Repair Warranty

Where a warranty is provided on a repair or replacement part, the warranty covers the specific repair or part supplied. It does not cover unrelated faults, accidental damage, misuse, liquid damage or subsequent damage caused after the repair.

6. Uncollected Equipment

Customers should collect or arrange delivery of repaired equipment within a reasonable period after being notified that the repair is complete. We may contact customers regarding equipment that remains uncollected for an extended period.

7. Refurbished Equipment

Refurbished computers and laptops are professionally tested and prepared for resale. The condition, specification and warranty applicable to each item will be stated at the time of sale.

8. Recycling & Data Destruction

Where equipment is submitted for recycling or refurbishment, customers are responsible for ensuring that they have removed any personal or confidential data that they wish to retain. Where secure data destruction is requested, we will take reasonable steps to securely erase data from the equipment before it is recycled or refurbished.

9. Limitation of Liability

Microfix will take reasonable care of customer equipment while it is in our possession. Nothing in these terms affects any rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this website.
